Phoenix Forfar - 2nd GymMark Club in Scotland

Local Angus Gymnastics Club ‘Phoenix Forfar GC’ has successfully been awarded GymMark status.  The club are the second in Scotland to achieve this award and will now set a bench mark for other clubs across the region.  Well done to the club for this excellent achievement.

Balwearie GC are the 1st GymMark Club in Scotland

Local Fife Gymnastics Club ‘Balwearie GC’ has successfully been awarded GymMark status. The club are the first in Scotland to achieve this award and will now set a bench mark for other clubs across the country. Well done to the club for this excellent achievement.

Club Development

The GymMark scheme has been developed by British Gymnastics, in partnership with Sport England and the Home Country Sports Council’s, to provide recognition to clubs that are committed to providing quality experiences for children participating within the sport.

Gaining GymMark accreditation will mean that clubs working towards accreditation will be recognised as a safe, effective and child friendly club, providing a service in the community, that children and young people, their parents/carers, and others with an interest in gymnastics, can trust.

Clubs will gain the security and knowledge that they have done everything that can be reasonably expected of them in order to minimise the possibility of having and accident or incident at their club.

Clubs with GymMark status are more likely to be looked upon favourably when making applications for different types of funding. It is hoped that GymMark accreditation scheme will go live by the start of the New Year.
